The National Theme for the 2013–2014 N.S.C.A.R. year is
Pursuit of Happiness.
Welcome to the Pursuit of Happiness! The National Project for the 2013-2014 year is Student Veterans of America (www.studentveterans.org), which is a non-profit organization that provides educational scholarships and support to those veterans who are reentering the mainstream college life. They build student centers to give the veterans a place to call home on campus, provide childcare and job counseling along with so much more to make sure that our nation’s heroes get the support that they need when returning to their schooling dreams.
This nationwide project has over 750 chapters with a presence in all 50 states and 3 countries. The goal for this year is to get EVERY local and state society more involved in OUR National Project. Everyone can participate by visiting local SVA chapters, meeting with veterans, sending care packages to soldiers and so much more! The possibilities are endless and any way that we can support our veterans, their families and their schooling dreams is a major support to them!
The entire National Board and myself look forward to seeing the ways that all of your local and state societies get involved with SVA this year while supporting the Pursuit of Happiness!
